We went in Puerto Galera last September 4 and 5 2010 to celebrate our 2nd year anniversary. Actually it was not our plan. Our plan was just to stay in Tagaytay for overnight and spend our anniversary there. We did our itenerary and it was all set. But, when we're both packed up and ready, all of a sudden it was changed. While riding on a jeepney off to Alabang. We're discussing "what if's". Out of no where we both asked to each other "what if we go straight to Galera instead of Tagaytay?" without any hesitations we decided that it is much cool to backpack in Puerto Galera. And that's it! Out of plan, we did our escapade in Puerto Galera.
Puerto Galera is only three and a half hour away from Manila first by bus to the port at Batangas City and then by boat. Tourists can also take the tourist service called the Sikat, from the City State Tower Hotel in Manila from the Batangas City port to Puerto Galera or Sabang Beach, Mindoro.
Waypoint:
From Alabang City Terminal take a bus bound to Batangas Pier it costs P150.00 (one way) just an hour ride.
From pier, ride a banca to white beach. One way ticket cost P250.00 but better to buy a round trip ticket for only P450.00. Prepare for environmental and terminal fee. Trips schedule is daily from 4am to 5pm.
One reason to enjoy while staying in puerto galera is the "fire dancers". They’re simply awesome wowing the crowd as they skillfully spin, move and dance to the beat of music, surrounding themselves with beautiful rings of fire. Firedancers manage to mesmerize the crowd and passersby with their dazzling and jawdropping skillful moves.
When the sunset falls. The party begins. Beach turned into a party scene like you do not expect it for the first timer in Galera. Some bars in Galera entertain customers by gay impersonators they are really funny and crazy acts. But if your're looking for a not so loud bar they also have. If you feel like dance till you drop and drink and get drunk as hell bar, Galera may also have to offer. And Mikko's bar we would prefer. Don't forget to try their best seller for thirsty the "Mindoro Sling" baby! It's a mix of: Rhum, Sprite, Pineapple Juice/Mango Juice/Orange Juice, jigger of grenadine.
Well, let us now see some photos we have gathered when we went in Puerto Galera. I humbly now share to you our some memories we have shared in a small island somewhere downsouth.
One morning in Puerto Galera. Post and ready for breakfast.
Island Hopping very much recommended once step on Galera Island. Enjoy the sand, the beach with turqoise colored water, the breeze, the trees, and the sun. Have fun snorkeling and fish feeding. We got our package activities for only P1000.00. *wink*
The Sand Bar Island.
Why they called Sand Bar Island? Literally, because the sand barriers the division of the sea water. *wink*
